1. General provisions

This Privacy Policy sets out how the personal data of Taronja School users is processed and protected. We respect your privacy and undertake to protect your personal data.

4. Private texts and automatic translation

  • The feature is available only to selected accounts. The source text and the translation are stored by Taronja as the account owner’s data and are not published in the Parallel Reading catalogue.
  • Automatic processing starts only on your command: “Translate”, “Check the translation” or “Continue the translation”. At that moment the selected fragment and limited context are sent along the Taronja → OpenRouter → Microsoft Azure route for processing by the OpenAI GPT-5.6 Sol Pro model. Automatic failover to another model is disabled. The request has data collection disabled and Zero Data Retention (ZDR) enabled, but OpenRouter, Microsoft Azure and OpenAI apply their own processing terms.
  • Do not upload passwords, payment details, medical information or other sensitive data. A saved text can be deleted on the “My Library” page.
  • Access and limits depend on the account level and are shown in “My Library” before processing starts.

We apply modern technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data from unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction.

8. Voluntary improvement survey

Taking part in the survey is optional and does not affect your studies. The response contains only the selected option, the section of the site, how the survey was opened, the device type and whether the user was signed in. The response does not include name, email, the full page address, or book and exercise texts.

To limit repeats we store a separate account state or a random browser identifier, which is replaced with a hash on the server. The technical link to the current invitation is valid for 24 hours and is deleted during the next hourly clean-up. The fact that a response was sent is stored for this version of the survey so it is not offered again.

A separate technical log makes it possible to verify survey displays, opens, submissions and errors. Detailed records older than 90 days are replaced with aggregate counters during the next clean-up. Coded responses are stored separately, and only aggregates are available in the administrative report. The survey and this log operate independently of third-party Google and Microsoft analytics; survey data is not sent to those services. Automatic invitations can be switched off with the “Do not offer surveys” button.
